Brunei-US English Language Enrichment Project for ASEAN

The Brunei-US English Language Enrichment Project for ASEAN is a five-year project supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFAT) of Brunei Darussalam and the United States Department of State that involves many countries of ASEAN.

This Project is funded by the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. It entails close working collaboration with other government ministries and organizations in Brunei and the nine ASEAN countries, as well as the United States.

The Project is designed for officers, diplomats, and teacher-trainers, and aims to strengthen ASEAN as an institution and also each of the individual member states by promoting English language proficiency and associated skills of key personnel in the countries.

The main goal is that participants will acquire skills pertinent to their professional lives, but also be exposed to a supportive, friendly environment where people from richly diverse cultural backgrounds interact, explore, and learn together.

The Project aims to help enhance cross-cultural interaction and foster other important educational and cultural links between Brunei and the U.S. and the countries of ASEAN.
